What's included in the purchase

With this product you acquire the full tuition of the Basic Navigation Pattern title, which includes:

• Theoretical training (in person or online), where you will learn navigation regulations, safety and buoyage.

• 8 hours of navigation practice on board an approved vessel, in which you will perform docking, anchoring, steering and coastal navigation maneuvers.

• 4 hours of radio communications (2 hours of theory and 2 hours of practical training in a simulator) to familiarize yourself with the handling of VHF radio and maritime communications.

• Digital teaching materials and support, with self-assessment tests and tutorials to prepare for the official exam.

• Document management and advice on exam dates and administrative procedures.

The fees for the official exam and medical examination are not included in the price.

Requirements and medical certificate

To enroll in the PNB you must have minimum 18 years o 16 years old with parental authorization . In addition to completing the training and internship, it is mandatory pass a 27-question multiple-choice theory exam and perform a medical examination. The regulations require the submission of a psychophysical aptitude report for the issuance of the degree. .

Important information

• Official exam: The exam consists of 27 multiple-choice questions. You must pay the corresponding fee and pass the exam to obtain the certificate.

• Powers of the PNB: It allows you to operate recreational boats up to 8 m in length and navigate up to 5 miles from a port or shelter, day and night. .

• Internships and radio: Eight hours of navigation practice and four hours of radiocommunications are mandatory.

• Medical certificate: It is required for issuing the certificate. It is valid for 90 days; if your driving license was renewed within the last two years, it can serve as a substitute. .

• Title duration: The PNB expires; you must renew the medical certificate every 10 years to maintain the validity of the qualifications.

• Fees not included: The tuition fee covers training and practical training; exam fees and medical examination are paid separately.
